Hi everyone,

The Sage sleeps in a Box

she told me
to Brush my Hair More Often
and Get a Job
You Lazy Snob.

because she wants the
Deluxe Cat Tree
made of Alder Wood Velvet.

Cleopatra could not pass
pearls as quickly as that!

i stack more boxes.

Purrsday Poetry: Cats

Hi everyone,

Please find below the latest entry in Purrsday Poetry by Brianna Dawn:

Cats

be like the cat
taking all of those balled up strings of nerves
unwinding them, picking them apart
until they’re an even larger mess of
disorganized chaos
but at least you tried to take it apart
with just a little fun
and afterwards you can
lazily sleep in the sun

Purrsday Poetry: For Felix, 2000-14

Hi everyone,

Please find below the latest entry in Purrsday Poetry by Jennifer Barraclough.

FOR FELIX, 2000-14

felix-on-deck

We loved one another for fourteen years
Remembering you now brings back my tears

You came as a fragile rescue kitten
As soon as we met my heart was smitten

Although you and I were perfectly matched
Other admirers would often get scratched

I was the mother that you never had
Nursed you with care when your health became bad

Although the vets were so clever and kind
They could not help as your vigour declined

Why you were so sick nobody could say
Sadly I watched as your life ebbed away
One night when I lay awake on the bed
A cold breeze told me your spirit had fled

I laid you to rest in a garden tomb
Where irises and sweet violets bloom

Passage of time will perhaps dim the pain
Till on the Rainbow Bridge we meet again

Purrsday Poetry: Purrsday Poetry: String Eight – The Stray Cat

Hi everyone,

Please find below the latest entry in Purrsday Poetry by theprosepoem:

“my” stray cat
eating
in the rain

*

the stray cat
eating
in the snow

*

stray cat
hides
when it sleets

*

my neck
hurts with
these thoughts

*

I dust down the stairs
shaming myself  (I think)
but shaming years

*

don’t worry about
the house’s facade.
worry about the roof

Purrsday Poetry: April 6th, or, You are Katie

Hi everyone,

Please find below the latest entry in Purrsday Poetry by Sonicleese.

April 6th, or, You are Katie

Little beating heart no bigger than a summer cherry

Universe of purrs

Green eyes blink the world

Breaths of small ribbed wind

Whiskers extend your mystique

Little licks on my arm in the night when I stir

Curl around me in a fever

Sleep close like a sister

Sweet ears protect from spirits

Little orange cat, you are ours

Purrsday Poetry: Sniff Sniff Purrr

Hi everyone,

Please find below the latest entry in Purrsday Poetry by Fny.

I breathe.

In, out.

In, out.

Every breath lets me sink,

deeper into relaxation.

Deeper into myself.

Deeper into the Earth.

I breathe.

In, out.

In, out.

Every breath lets —

SNIFF SNIFF PURRRRRRRRRR.

I tease my eyes open just a bit and come face to face with Caspar’s fluff and glimmering eyes.  Hrgnhg.

I breathe.

In, out.

PURRRRRRRRRR.

Caspar licks my nose, it tickles.

Caspar bites my nose, eeeeeii!

I wrestle the furry monster down to lay by my side instead.

Starting over, eyes closed.

Breathe.

In, out.

PURRRRRRRRRRR.

Stretching and reaching, Caspar paws at my nose.

He likes my nose.

PURRRRRRRRRRR.

Breathe.

In, out.

A cat’s claw tickles my ear. Then my lip.

Then back to my nose.

PURRRRRRRRRRR.

Gods damnit, this isn’t working.

I give up on meditating and cuddle the cat instead.
