The open day, from 10.30am to 3pm on Saturday 16 March, is open to all the family.

Their dedicated veterinary staff will be on hand offering free microchipping and health checks for pets and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your pet or the charity’s services.

Children’s interactive Become A Junior Blue Cross Vet tours of the hospital, which is at 88-92 Merton High Street, will run every half hour from 11am and cost £2 per child.

There will also be raffles, games and stalls for all the family to enjoy.

Louise Newman, Blue Cross Merton Practice Manager, said:  “Our open days are always so popular.

“It’s a real opportunity for people of all ages to find out about the work Blue Cross does at our hospital in Merton and at our hospitals and rehoming centres across the country.”

How wonderful. The need to contact Animal Planet and get on TV. I love the various Zoo shows that really show us how a zoo works and the conservation of species. This would be a great way to show the world all they do. Awesome. Precious kitty picture.
