Renegade: Bacon?!? And I can eat it?

Hi everyone,

It’s me! Rennie here today and my humans brought home something very interesting for me this time…

Rennie: Is that really for me? It says Dog Joy on it! Well they had the ingredients checked with a friend who knows what’s safe for us and she confirmed it’s fine but only in small quantities. : )

Renegade: It smells nice…

Renegade: Maybe I can stick my head in there and get it out myself…

Renegade: Look! I can pretend to be a puppy if you offer me bacon. NOW GIVE THIS TO ME!

Renegade: WHAT! You made it much smaller than before. I was looking forward to the big piece. 🙁

Renegade: Ok this is very yummy but a little chewer than my normal treats.

Oliver: That sounds like a good thing as that means you actually have to chew your food for a change!

Oliver: Now… do I have to make “Männchen” as well to get some?!?

Renegade: Man-ch-en what?!?

Oliver: It’s the German term that people use to get their dogs to stand on their hind legs! 😛

Renegade: Aaaaah I see… now gimme back my treats!

Renegade: *Yummy* It’s a big piece!

Oliver: Don’t forget to chew…

Renegade: *Gnaws* No chance I’ll forget to do that with these!

Oliver: So the verdict from our humans? They thought that these were great! Especially if you’ve got a multi pet household containing dogs it’s a relief to know that these dog treats are actually purrfectly safe for us felines to consume. In fact these are sold by the same company that our humans got their fresh refrigerated food from for us. 🙂

Oliver: What is Renegade eating and where is my bowl!

Renegade: I want more of them NOW!

Oliver: Well as long as you don’t let a gourman like Rennie eat the whole bag at once….

Renegade: Not fair. 🙁

Oliver: Anyhow… if you’d like to get some of these for your own family you can find out more about the FreshPet Dog Joy® Turkey Bacon on Freshpet! And it’s available in both the UK and US. 🙂

Well, if Oliver and Renegade make Männchen, wouldn’t they be more like Bayrischer Löwe (Bavarian Lion)? 😉

Who doesn’t like bacon? It reminds of Instinct freeze dried raw. They sell it in larger bags at a better cost for dogs but the lady at the pet food said the cat version had the same ingredients. I never actually confirmed that though.

I wouldn’t be surprised if För some of the raw food the ingredients would be the same. It’s a shame they don’t sell this one in cat packaging as it’s a perfect treat if not a little big portion size in the dog bags. ?

        • Marc-André says:

Very true. And if it’s the same why not label it as dog / cat food in various sizes.

But I guess some people could be funny about the packaging. Like we sell height adjustable bowls for dogs and cats at cat shows and some people flagged that it’s got a dog and cat on the label. And if we don’t have any just for cats…

          • Charles Huss says:

I’m not sure why but for some reason cat food is much more expensive than dog food. Perhaps if they labeled it for dogs and cats they would have to give up that extra profit from cat people.

          • Marc-André says:

That is quite possible for some brands… thinking of Freshpet at least in the U.K. the dog and cat food are equally priced and both do come in smaller and larger bags / sausage roll type packaging.

But you are most likely right on quite a few of the other brands! :O

Smart kitties! Rhiannon, my “Southern Girl”, would love these. She goes crazy whenever I’m eating ham or bacon; however, she won’t touch tuna fish.

Rennie you sure are enjoying these. Need to buy some for my boy he would love them. Great you have to chew them and not gobble them down. Hugs and Purrs. x ???

We have had snow twice this year in Houston, so he should be adaptable. Our Egyptian cats were perfectly happy moving to Houston but like everyone, they are allergic to the heavy tree pollen and all had to live inside. We have one left who we treat with a homeopathic remedy for allergies and use an air cleaner…

😮 I always thought of Texas as hot all year around. I made the big mistake of visiting my uncle in Texas in the middle of summer. ?

          • Marc-André says:

Yeah it’s set in my mind that I got a sunburn through the hair on my head. Should have listened to my relatives to wear a big hat. 🙁

          • chattykerry says:

We always wear hats!! I am practiced in finding the old car parking space under the tree… In the summer we all do our walking in the mall. But in the winter we can sometimes wear t-shirts. ?

          • Marc-André says:

? the walking in the mall reminds me of my last trip to Orlando. Humidity outside was unbearable.
