Keeping Cats Happy With a Window View

A window view for your cat can be entertaining and keep them mentally active.  Before setting up an area make sure that all latches and locks are secure on the window.  Also check to make sure the screen is secure.  My cat Teddy has a habit of pressing his head against the screen, so I never leave him unattended when it’s open.

A cozy blanket, bed or a climbing tree is a great way to make their time in the window more enjoyable.

This is Teddy telling me he wants to be left alone to enjoy the sunshine. He has several windows where he can go throughout the day.  He always finds the sun.

My cats have always enjoyed looking out the window at the wildlife.  I place seed out for the birds and squirrels each day.  This photo from a few years ago shows Teddy and Sammy keeping an eye on a squirrel.

It’s not only wildlife that makes Teddy happy.  He watches the cars go by and people walking their dogs. It doesn’t matter whether you live in a house, apartment or condo, the cats will find something that catches their attention out the window.

Even a comfy chair will do. Why not take time to join your cat at the window and enjoy the view together.

    Bien sur!

This is a necessity. The divas have many windows looking out from which they can monitor their kingdom… Each window has a wide ledge or some flat surface very close to it. Hopefull even this will approve with the addition of just the right climbing cat tree.

My Teddy gets to go outside with us but still enjoys looking out the windows and we’ve give him plenty of “perches” to sit and watch the world go by when he’s inside with us!

    Hugs, Pam
