Treat a Cat in a Rescue to a Gift this Christmas, with the Pet Connection Christmas Shoebox Appeal
This year, thousands of cats around the world will spend Christmas in rescues and shelters, waiting to be chosen by a new family. While our cats enjoy their Christmas presents and a sneaky bite of the turkey, cats in rescues will be visited by volunteers, fed and cared for, but not enjoying Christmas with the love of a family. The Pet Connection Christmas Shoebox appeal is supporting 10 Cat rescues across the UK and Ireland this year, to make donating a box full of food, treats and toys easier than ever.
Inspired by our own rescue cats, Ragnar and Willow, who were both abandoned as kittens, the Pet Connection Christmas Shoebox Appeal has been designed to make supporting each rescue easy and quick for donors and to ensure that every item received by each rescue is as useful as possible. Shoeboxes can be purchased quickly and easily on www.petconnection.ie, with all donations delivered to the charities for free. Each Shoebox donated includes wet and dry food, Dreamies treats, a Kickeroo and more tasty treats and fun toys. Donating a Shoebox costs £10 for charities in the UK or €12 for charities in the Republic of Ireland.
Ragnar and Willow are a huge part of our family and thinking of them alone in a rescue centre over Christmas, instead of at home with us, enjoying Christmas with the rest of the family, breaks our hearts. Their early experiences of being abandoned drive us as a family and as a business to support rescues in every way that we can. This year, we are supporting the following rescues through our Christmas Shoebox Appeal: New Start Cat Rescue, Phibsboro Cat Rescue, Kitten Cottege, Limerick Feral Cats, CLAWS, Rescue Cats NI, ASH Animal Rescue, Galway SPCA, Louth SPCA and HART North Cork.

What a great idea! We always try to give each of the shelter cats at PAWS a little something extra (and extra attention) for the holidays.
