UK Readers: Win one of 3 Bob Martin pet flea kits

Hi everyone,

Today we’ve teamed up with Bob Martin to provide you with a chance to win 1 of 3 pet flea kits worth £25!

For those of you that have not heard of Bob Martin they are a family run veterinary medicine supplier for both prescription and none prescription medicine. Additionally they are very active when it comes to the welfare of animals and have taken part in many campaigns to ensure our cat’s safety such as the Protect against permethrin poisining campaign from International Cat Care.

But on to the competition and information around fleas.

Did you know that fleas thrive in humidity and in temperatures between 24˚C-30˚C?  If you didn’t you’re not alone.  Unknown to many, British summertime signals the start of the flea season. As our family pets become more exposed to fleas outdoors, the risk of an infestation in the home increases too.

To help family pet owners, Bob Martin is offering winners a selection of products from their Clear range of protection and treatment solutions for animals and the home.

Over two thirds of pet owners don’t realise their home is at risk from flea infestation. In fact, 95% of fleas are found in the home, yet over two thirds of pet owners overlook the problem and don’t treat their homes for fleas even after they find that their pet has been infected. Flea prevention is definitely better than cure, but nearly half of pet owners are leaving it too late, only taking action when they notice flea bites on themselves or members of their family, or spot reddened skin and bald patches on their pet.

Fleas are carried into the home by our beloved pets and can be very difficult to see. Flea eggs can then be transferred from a pet’s fur onto carpets and crevices within the home. A single female flea can lay up to a staggering fifty eggs per day, resulting in an infestation quickly building up in the home; a problem hidden in plain sight for many households.

Managing and protecting your pets and home this summer doesn’t have to be a chore, which is why 3 lucky winners will be given a super easy-to-use set of Bob Martin Clear products worth over £25. To be in with a chance of winning, just answer the following question.

How many eggs can a single female flea lay per day?

a)10
b)50
c)95

  1. b) 50 eggs.
The local foxes pass back & forth through the garden here & always leave a trail of fleas behind them. Thankfully, the house has so far proven inhospitable. The cat, less so.

      1. You’re welcome. We are dealing with fleas right now actually. My two cats have them as well as a stray. Just went to the vet yesterday for flea meds. 🙂
