The Cat Show Live has been honoured with the prestigious Small Business Sunday (#SBS) award, a recognition by retail entrepreneur and former Dragon’s Den star, Theo Paphitis. This accolade places The Cat Show Live among an elite group of small businesses that exemplify passion, innovation and entrepreneurial excellence.
Launched in 2010 by Theo Paphitis, Small Business Sunday (SBS) is an initiative designed to celebrate outstanding small businesses across the UK. Each Sunday, from 5:00 – 7:30 pm, small businesses are invited to share their stories on X (formerly Twitter) or Instagram, showcasing their dedication and potential. Theo personally selects six winners each week, amplifying their success by sharing their stories with his extensive network.
This year, The Cat Show Live stood out among countless entries and was honoured at the #SBSEvent 2025 in Birmingham, where attendees enjoyed an inspiring line-up of guest speakers from various industries.
The Cat Show Live, the UK’s first non-competitive cat show, is the brainchild of the husband and wife duo, Peter Banbury and Samantha Marsh. With over twenty years of collective experience in the cat industry, they are uniquely positioned to bring this innovative concept to life. Samantha, an award-winning entrepreneur recognised by Theo Paphitis, demonstrated her business acumen on the acclaimed BBC One show, The Apprentice, where she highlighted her unique approach to small business ownership. In 2017, she was honoured by Theo for her successful venture, Tigga Towers, further establishing her reputation in the industry.
Samantha Marsh and Pete Banbury were present at the #SBSEvent, where they had the chance to meet Theo Paphitis. Samantha shared her excitement about the moment, especially when Theo awarded her the prestigious #SBSWinner certificate.
