A recent story by iNews states that there has been a surge in UK staycation related Google searches due to the Covid-19 restrictions and pet-friendly accommodations are particularly sought after!
With that in mind, the pet lovers at OnBuy Pet Supplies sought to discover the cities in the UK with the most pet-friendly accommodation. To do so, they looked at the number of Airbnb’s in each city and found out what percentage of them allow pets.
Cities with the most pet-friendly accommodation
If you’re visiting Leicester with your furry friends, you’ll have no problem finding a place to stay as 96% of the Airbnb’s allow pets!
Second on the list is Sheffield with 78% of Airbnb’s allowing pets. That is followed by Swansea with 68% and Belfast with 66%.
Cities with the fewest pet-friendly accommodation
At the other end of the scale, the city with the fewest pet-friendly accommodation is Nottingham – shockingly, only 8% of the Airbnb’s found there allow pets!
Cambridge and Birmingham are joint next with only 10% of the Airbnb’s there allowing pets.
If you’re visiting Blackpool or Wolverhampton with your pet, you might have a difficult time with finding accommodation as only 12% of the Airbnb’s allow pet.

Methodology:
OnBuy scoured Airbnb for stays from 1st March to 2nd March 2021 for 4 guests. The percentage of stays available to pets were found for each city and the results were ranked. Data was collected on 01.02.2021 and is accurate as of then.
