We always knew cats were pawsome, and here’s another reason why. Mind you, we’re not sure about wine, Alfie!

Since I can’t see much evolutionary advantage for cats in being able to drink seawater, maybe the adaptation is for salty half-dried-out pools in hot, dry country? Or a side-product of an adaptation to eat potentially unhealthy prey (I mean unhealthy to the cats, of course). As for other water, many cats clearly prefer rainwater over tapwater.
