Immediately after the death of Vitali, which of the two cats was the most gentle and tame, Lily has suddenly become cuddly. Too bad that in the beginning was not very good in the matter of cuddles and kneaded on our legs with unsheathed claws!

Years ago the older of my two cats, Nissana died, her daughter Lili (same name as your Lily) became totally affectionate. She had never liked snuggles before or sitting on my lap but that all changed when she became an only cat and continued until she went over the rainbow bridge herself.
My calico took over the “household duties” when her adoptive father died. When she had never done so before, she started getting us up, putting us to bed, and watching me home from work. Maybe Master Orion, as we call him, was watching over her like Vitali does in this comic. Very nice!
