Two red cats 5 – The Legend of the Red Kitty

This time, a little bit of genetic instead of pure adventure!

The tortie and calico (tricolor cats) are always females, while the red cats are mostly males. Why? Everything is in the gene of the red. The gene of the red (“Orange”, O) is  sex-linked and is found exclusively on the sex chromosome X. Also the gene has a second peculiarity: unlike what happens for the other genes, O is not dominant on o.

So, Lily is a little living legend 😉

Meaow, see you with the next strip!

Hey! Do you like the adventures of the two red cats? You can support us on Patreon! Special rewards (such as the possibility of seeing before anyone else the strips of Two Red Cats, the works in progress and “backstage” photos of cute animals!) are waiting for you… and Lily would be happy of being treated like a queen also thanks to your support 😉
