I’ve recently taken up cardmaking as a hobby. It’s a lot of fun and has definitely been a good way to unwind from a hard day of work!
But you’re not hear to read about cardmaking. You’re hear for cats. And it just so happens that Sampson relates to the subject of my cardmaking. How does he relate?
Well, because he apparently wants to help me with it. All the time.
If I’m sat at the table with paper, stamps and ribbon all around me, he’ll hop up to see what I’m doing. He’ll walk over the papers, swipe at the scissors as I’m trying to cut something, play with the bits of ribbon.
And when I’m trying to photograph the cards he comes to help with that too. It’s like he has some sort of sensor that tells him I’m doing it. Even if he was nowhere in sight he’ll suddenly appear, walking in front of the card to inspect it, pushing at the camera to make sure I get the perfect shot. He’s so… helpful..!
It is of course very sweet of him to want to be with me when I’m working on my hobby, but it sure can be inconvenient at times. Bless him.
Love,
Lady Joyful
Does your cat like to help with your hobby? Is your cat more of a help or a hindrance when assisting?
A helpful cat is a clever cat! Artemis loves to help out when we are on the boat – the minute the tool locker is opened. she dives in to fetch the correct item. When the tool box is out, she sits on the lid. When we are measuring something, she likes to use the ruler too. And when there’s painting or varnishing needed, she sits really close with her nose next to the brush, in order to inspect the work……
Artemis sounds very helpful! Thanks for commenting 🙂
Jamima likes to try to steal my pen. And is fond of snuggling down on my wifi mouse. The things she knows hinder me patting her…….
Ah, what a clever thing Jamima must be 🙂 Thanks for commenting!
When writing anything, Sonu Singh wants to help! If I’m ironing, he likes to look after the warm clothes, and leave his hair all over them too! If we are trying to knit, he wants to assist with the wool… His helpfulness us never ending! ?
He sounds very helpful! Thanks for commenting 🙂
Our Kosmo does everything with my husband. They are allways together inside to house, Kosmo doesn’t want to go out. When my husband goes out the cat watches from windows what he is doing there. They sleep together, they wake up at tha same time…
That’s so sweet! Kosmo sounds adorable. Thanks for commenting 🙂
Count Vronsky, my Russian Blue rescue cat helps me write by sitting on my keyboard and gazing thoughtfully out the window. He also loves Legos, helpfully batting the pieces we don’t need into the floor.
How helpful he is! Ah yes, ours do like to assist with Legos too 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
Beautiful cat
Thank you 🙂
What a gorgeous cat! It’s hard to be annoyed by their interference given how adorable they are, right? My older cat mostly ignores my art work but my kitten likes to wander all over my art table. Last week he strolled right through a watercolor painting that was still drying. I’ve had to switch to using a water pot with a screw top lid to prevent him spilling it. His desire to “assist” is sweet but he’s very much a hindrance rather than a help.
Yes, absolutely right! Oh dear, I hope the painting wasn’t spoiled. Thanks for commenting 🙂
Thankfully the painting was saved and, as it was watercolor, cleaning up the footprints was easy.
That’s good!
Cats are very helpful-especially when you don’t want help 🙂
Exactly! Thanks for commenting 🙂
Helpful is good!
Have a super Sunday…
Noodle and crew
It sure is 🙂 You too, and thanks for commenting.
Always on hand to lend a paw..cute, loving and a test of patience ?
How very true 🙂 Thanks for commenting!
You’re welcome and I enjoyed your post ?
Scooby likes to help me paint pictures by using his nose as a brush
Oh how adorable! Thanks for commenting 🙂
Since I almost lost Scooby a few weeks ago due to illness, he can paint with his nose all he wants!
Yes those kind of scares do make you more willing to deal with the annoyances. I do hope Scooby is much better now.
One of my cats is black with white on her chest like your Sampson.
I have two cats both of whom love to watch me do anything including loading the dishwasher, put on makeup, type on my blogs and anything that doesn’t make loud noises!! lol
Does your cat’s white have a shape? Sampson’s looks like a star sometimes! Aw, I’m sure you’re very glad for your cats’ help 😉 Thanks for commenting 🙂
No, no real shape to the white patch. She has some white hairs under her arms and back legs. She is a character! I love my two girls!
I am sure they love you too 🙂
We cats know how to be helpful, but some humans seem not to appreciate it. We don’t understand why… Purrs
Sometimes humans are silly! Thanks for commenting 🙂
I do a few crafts, including crochet, cross stitch, scrapbooking and sewing. The cats just love to help with all of them, if running off with my scissors, chewing the yarn and trying to swipe my threads can be classed as helping. I often give up and play with them instead which is possibly why they do it 😉
If that is why they do it then it is apparently effective! Thanks for commenting 🙂
I also like cardmaking! My cats have never once helped me, though. I do catch them patrolling the supplies every once in a while…
Ah well, I guess they just want to make sure you aren’t missing anything! 🙂 Thanks for commenting.
My cats prefer to think of it as supervising.
That’s a good way to think of it! Thanks for commenting 🙂
