Purrsday Poetry – Coco: A Cat’s Self Portrait: Written for Masterblaster

I’m elegance personified: the sphynx
Is just a dusty lion compared with me:
No curtain-climber, no great Hilary,
It’s slept in Egypt’s sun a million winks.

No matter that I’m a computer jinx:
A mouse is still a mouse. We both agree
It’s paradise to play with: let me be!
Who do you think you are, the Missing Lynx?

I am your guardian spirit when you’re ill.
I am your goddess: I command you now
To rise and do obeisance in the night:
A priestess, I can bend you to my will.
When you adopted me you made a vow
To worship Bastet: rise, my acolyte!
