“Meow Meow Meow”

    Being Words of Fine Advice

To the Divine Miss Kitty

“Miss Kitty, they’ve not set a place for you!
How could they!? Foolish creatures. Do they view
You as some lesser mortal, while you prowl
Between the plates and so discretely growl?
Where would they be if you, the sovereign cat,
Did not patrol their spread? Why, every rat
Would find it fit to vanquish every feast,
Inviting in then every rodent beast!
We cats know you’re the queen, the empress, gold,
Of all these humans and that they behold
The goddess here herself, whenas you walk
In furry grandeur, and engage in talk,
Befitting only cats. These human things,
Can’t even meow as well as each cat sings,
Nor catch a mouse themselves, so have them go
And set a place for you–let them eat crow.”

Author notes

I found this scratched on a piece of paper on my desk. Being the resident human, I figured it belonged here.
