Protect your Older pet with Lifetime Insurance to Help Them Enjoy Retirement

Did you know that it can be very difficult to get a pet insurance policy for an older pet? Once pets reach a certain age, this problem can leave them vulnerable at a time in their lives when they may need treatment the most. Fortunately, this autumn, Agria Pet Insurance is making Lifetime insurance accessible to even our most senior pets – no matter how old they are.

This will be reassuring news to many owners of older cats, dogs and rabbits, because there’s no doubt that, while younger pets can bring a lot of joy to our lives, there’s a special place in our hearts for our wonderful, older and wiser four-legged friends.

Depicting this so clearly is the true story Agria Pet Insurance tells of widower Joe, who recently adopted a 13-year-old dog, Cindy. Their heart-warming tale tells of how both older dog and owner have transformed each other’s lives, powerfully highlighting just how deep the bonds with our senior pets can be.

Pet owners, and especially those with older animals will relate to how Joe feels about Cindy and be just as committed to helping them enjoy their golden years. However, just like us, as our pets age, they too become more prone to long-term chronic problems, such as heart disease, diabetes and arthritis.

While these conditions are often easily managed with the right veterinary care, when treatment is required for years to keep a pet feeling happy and well, it can come at quite a cost. For example, on average, a staggering £2,500 per year to manage diabetes. That’s why Lifetime insurance is so important for older pets, helping to cover treatment for long-term conditions year after year, for as long as it’s needed.

This autumn, Agria Pet Insurance is giving older pets the special care they deserve with access to Lifetime cover with no upper age limit. Obviously, this is a good thing for the pets – having insurance makes it easier for owners to get them the veterinary care they might need. And, as Agria Pet Insurance so clearly understands, our older pets mean a great deal to us, so knowing that they have insurance in place should they need it is vitally important.

Robin Hargreaves, Senior Veterinary Advisor at Agria Pet Insurance, backs the campaign; “Later in life, particularly with chronic diseases, things can start to go wrong – so having insurance is a huge help. For owners, it’s the reassurance that their pet can access the veterinary care they may need for problems connected with old age, and for the pet, getting this care can mean a much happier and more comfortable retirement.”

Lifetime policies from Agria Pet Insurance taken out between 1st October and 30th November 2019 have no upper age limit. So, no matter how much grey fur your four-legged friend has, this autumn, you can benefit from the reassurance of cover them for the rest of their lives.

Hello Pet Mom, and I share your concerns. I think we could round up a few
cat people and research how rural and metro people could establish pet health coverage with various U.S. insurance companies and their agencies. They might not go for it, but it’s worth a try. Or we could start saving for their old age. Diabetes occurs in many cats as they age. Insulin and needles and veterinary visits really add up. I wish we’d had insurance for all the costs, but fortunately we managed to afford the expenses. Our Coolidge lived to be 17 years.
