3 Interesting Exotic Looking Cats That Will Brighten Your Day

Everyone should look after a pet at least once in their life. It is a great learning experience and can help one learn about responsibilities for others. Just remember that some pets are more fascinating than others. If you’re looking for something other than an ordinary cat or dog, you should consider adopting an exotic-looking cat of which many sadly end up in rescue shelters just like your ordinary moggie. It’ll indeed take some time and practice to get used to these pets. Nevertheless, they’ll be well worth it in the long run. So, what exotic cats can brighten your day? Within this guide, you will find an analysis of three interesting cats that will put a smile on your face.

Bengal Cat

Cats are very intelligent creatures. Many will agree that they’re smarter than dogs in many ways. If you’re looking for a good animal companion and you want a cat, you should look no further than the Bengal cat.  you will find that this cat has already been domesticated. This feline is actually a hybrid of the Asian leopard cat and the Egyptian Mau. As you can see, it looks very much like a wild cat. They have a golden shine and wild cat like spots which sets them apart from other cat breeds.

Sadly Bengals have received somewhat of a bad reputation due to the fact that they are more agile than other cats and will require proper looking after. If you decide to adopt a Bengal cat ensure you give them plenty of 3-Dimensional space and ideally access to an outdoor space But apart from being more agile they are the utmost loving companions. The popularity of the Bengal cat has, of course, exploded in recent years. In fact, it is estimated that there are more than 1,900 breeders in the world. That is far more than the 125 registered with the TICA in 1992.

While this breed might not be as cute as some of the others, its sheer beauty will leave you smiling.

Chausie

Over the years, the Chausie has become a domestic breed. It was developed by breeding several non-domestic species of jungle cats together. This means this breed is going to have an exotic appearance. The most distinctive feature of the Chausie is the ears and snout-like mouth. The cat looks very similar to a dog because of this. This breed was first recognized by The International Cat Association in 1995. Since then, its popularity has grown significantly. This cat has very long whiskers and that will set it apart from other breeds. F4 generations of this breed are classified as domestic cats and thus will fit right into your home.

It is common for these cats to weigh anywhere from 15 to 25 pounds. Remember that male cats will be heavier than females. These cats are leggy and long-bodied. This gives them a unique appearance that you’re not going to find elsewhere. They’re also available in three colors, including black, black ticked tabby, and black grizzled tabby. Either way, you can guarantee that your Chausie is going to stand out from the crowd.

Ocicat

Another breed that resembles our felines wild relatives is the Ocicat! However, surprisingly, this breed will not have any wild DNA in its gene pool. This is an unusual breed because the cat will be spotted like a wildcat. However, it will possess the same temperament as a domestic animal. This makes them the purrfect family pet. The cat’s name originates from its likeness to the Ocelot. These cats have been around for a very long time. However, their popularity has only started to grow in the past few years.

The cat’s eyes will be very unique. They almost look like almonds. The cat will also feature a strong body with muscular legs. Once you’ve familiarized yourself with the Ocicat, you’ll be able to spot one right away. Remember that the breed comes in twelve color variants. The breed is also known for being friendly and sociable and is not shy around strangers either. If you like cats but want one that is unique, you’ll want to check this one out for yourself. You will not be disappointed at all!

Of course, we’d always recommend to adopt a cat rather than purchase one but if you are looking for a specific breed it’s worth pointing out to seek out a recognised breeder that’s member of an association such as TICA, GCCF, WCF, CFA or Fife!
