The Friday Art Cat: George the Turkish Van

FRIDAY ART CAT

George the Turkish Van

I painted this small oil face shot of George after exhibiting my work at a cat show with Katzenworld.  One of my stall prizes was for me to paint the owner’s cat.

I’d never before seen a Turkish Van breed of cat, and I thought George was an absolute beauty, and so purring and friendly.  He’d won prizes, too.  His owner, Nicky, was very informative for me.

They are a semi-long haired muscular breed, mostly white fur, with a colour on the head and tail.  They can swim apparently.  The Van in the name refers to Lake Van in Turkey, where they originated.

Yet another cat breed to fall in love with !

Let me know what you think of them.
