Purrsday Poetry: Lap-sphinx

Lap-sphinx, you stare at me with half-lidded eyes

that burn with the fury of stars,

gossamer whiskers tremble, and tiny teeth

white as winter, dagger-sharp are bared

in a feline yawn,

heavy lids close again, and your face

settles into wary sleep.

That is so true! Many people don’t realise how adorable they and their other naked relatives are. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea and I wasn’t sure about them until I met them “face to face”

That is also true. 😀 The other thing is that oriental type cats are a hell of a lot more human focussed and needy than most other cats. It’s like having a puppy sometimes. ?
