KitKat Discovers Catnip, Has Out-of-Body Experience

Hello, dear Katzenworld readers! Like to hear a little story? Sure you would! Here it is. So my cat just had catnip for the first time. Here’s what happened in a nutshell.
  1. Wild Abandon
  2. Mega-Munchies
  3. 18-Hour Nap

Before the box of 4cats cat toys even made it through the door, my striped tabby, KitKat, was aware that something good was coming his way. Following me into the other room, he climbed up on the couch to inspect the box.

Eagle-eyed readers may also notice in the pictures how he re-decorated the arm of my couch with his razor-like claws! (I have entered the Wayfair #WayBeyondRepair Competition, as mentioned on Katzenworld.

As soon as I got the catnip toy open and put it on the couch next to him, he was all in. Some of the pictures are blurry, as he was in perpetual motion the minute he got hold of that catnip toy! Rubbing his face all over it, flipping around, even drooling. (Sidenote: these are also things not to do on a first date – generally speaking.)

The toy we tried for this was the 4cats Premium Motif Cushion with catnip filling.

After KitKat played with the catnip toy, he walked around the house looking at things as if seeing them for the first time. Oh, a curtain! How lovely. And what’s this, my hu-mom’s big toe? Amazingly life-like.

This brief daze over, he headed to his food dish. Yes, just as some people get the munchies after they smoke pot (or so I’ve been told! I’m totally legit, any officers reading this… I mean, I don’t even dink! ?) KitKat ate three times the usual amount of food and then took a looooong nap. I didn’t even see him again until the next day!

So overall, a big thumbs-up from KitKat J. Snorington for the 4cats Catnip Premium Motif Cushion. Next up, he’ll try out a 4Cats Valerian toy. Just as a preview, his reaction to that one was not at all what I expected! Many thanks to Marc and the gang at Katzenworld for providing these goodies and giving my furry friend a cat-walk on the wild side!

    Meow meow meow that Catnip lookss furabuluss!!! Mee MUST find meeself sum of that fore sure!
    LadyMummy brott home a little pouch with sum sort of Catnip inn it an it iss WOW-WEE!! Mee acts like KitKat an then mee has a wunderfull sleep full of happy dreemss!! Long live Catnip!!

    Thanks, Paula! Oh, man, that was a major sleep after he hit the ‘Nip. The next day he was too wiped out to tear at the fabric on the couch (a daily endeavor). Plus, he barely even hassled the squirrels in the yard that day. Precious memories!
