Happy 1st Anniversary FurCats! And the story of Tian

Hello everyone,

Today we’d like to congratulate our friends at FurCats to their 1st anniversary!

Their logo may remind some of your of Oliver but actually his name is Tian. 🙂 Tian was rescued by our friend who started FurCats.

So who is Tian? Well he can tell you himself! 🙂

My Fur-mum was a feral cat

Flicking through some old pics of when I could fit into the palm of your hand, seems like a life that happened to someone else.
It was tough back then.  FurMum was a stray who wandered into a Den, 9 weeks pregnant with me and my two sisters.  Jo and Matt, the owners (thank you) took FurMum in – but then she disappeared again to have us.  Matt went out, determined to find us in the deep dark woods, armed with a torch and oodles of blankets and treats.  We were rescued and brought back to the Den. FurMum – or CC (CompanyCat) as she was then named  – stayed there and lived out her final days as Queen-of-the-Den.  This was until CarMonster took her away – and now she’s Queen-of-another-Den.  Up there somewhere, on the other side of the rainbow. My HuMum tells me she fell in love with me. Instantly. She tells me that’s my special power – I can make people fall in love with me and helps make them feel all warm and colourful inside.  There are lots of other cats where I am – and I hate to break it to her – but I think that’s a special power that all cats possess – not just me!

HuMum tells me I arrived at a very important time, when lots of things were coloured in different shades of blue.  Apparently, I added colour to things and gave things a bit more of a sparkle; a bit more of a shine.  I know that to be something all us cats are good at.  So, when people come to visit me (sometimes they even come to visit my HuMum) – they too take a little bit of colour and shine, away with them. I’m assuming that cats everywhere are doing the same ? and our HuMums and HuDads are desperately wanting us to continue colouring things in for them. And, as a kind of ‘thank you’ I get lots of food that’s really meaty and healthy for me as well as fabulous things to play with.  It’s a win-win situ! Here’s the deal
Look through the stuff on this website and add bits you fancy, to your want/ need list.  I know our HuMums and HuDads want us to eat well and play well so that we continue to turn everything we touch, to colour.  Apparently not all cat food is good for us – and we need to be very careful about what we put into our bodies (what with us being so important an’ all)!

Let them stroke us occasionally, perhaps lie on their chest for a bit, brush past them every once in a while and stare at them. A lot.  This is ‘love’ apparently, and its easy-peasy!  Instant gratification, in the form of snack treats – as well as our much sought after list!

Our love, apparently, is the gift that just keeps on giving

So who are FurCats?

It’s a cat owner and cat lover only shop that’s based in Chorlton (Manchester) and we originally met Nazima at The Family Pet show in Manchester. 🙂

Of course when we found out about her opening this shop we had to link up with her as it’s right up our street!

In fact last year we went to her launch party! Below you can see some photos of our visit in case you missed our post about the launch. 😀

So right about now you are probably wondering what things would be on sale there?!?

Amongst the fabulous 4cats toys that she gets from us there is a wide array of items for both cat lovers and cat owners alike and we’ve prepared a gallery of some of our favourites for you below!

But her shop is not just about selling cat goods it’s all about promoting healthy cat ownership and to connect the cat people of the area with each other!

One thing she does is that every so often she collects photos from friends, customers and social media followers to put together a fantastic wall of cat photos. And of course our little ones have joined in on this fun and contributed some photos. 🙂

If you are located near FurCats on 512 Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, Manchester, M21 9AW, we hope you’ll pay her a visit and wish her a happy anniversary in person!

And for those that can’t make it we’ve included a little 360 video of the shop:

Thanks,

Marc

All fine, love the T-shirts – but … a little but only – no food bowls in a holder with water bowls. We all know that cats tend to drink not enough. There are countless witness reports out there that they drink a lot more when food and water are seperated … I know the shop does not produce these foodbowl-holders, but I saw them here the first time.

Newbies at having a cat might be tempted: “Oh look, how practical” – but it is not really hitting the nail.

Good point about the bowls! I think she sells them for people travelling and going to cat shows where it’s only used temporary.

Neither is Mr Oli… Nubia, Rennie and Freya would be fine but I’d not go on long distance journeys with them!

This Saturday Rennie and Freya are travelling with us to Catfest tho the event is trying to raise money for charity and were looking for friendly cats that are used to meeting new people. Luckily both Rennie and Freya are used to cat shows so we volunteered to help with the fund raising. 🙂

Glad to have introduced you. 🙂

Not sure how far it is for you but Nazima’s Shop is well worth a visit not just for the products but she is just so lovely and makes you feel at home even if you are only there to browse. 😀
