And to make it fair your cat photos don’t have to be a tummy shot we do understand that not all cats like showing off their belly! So any fun photo story will be fine but tummy ones will be even better 😀

There is just something about a kitten’s tummy… who could resist?
We just adopted a fourth cat. A kitten at that and she looooooves showing her belly of and getting rubs. 🙂
We have been searching for that little brother for over a year…

We hear so much of everyone over run with kittens but not here. We will keep looking. 🙁

Yes, I agree. However, my daughter has been doing animal rescue for over two decades (she started very young) and is still at it. She recruited her partner and a number of friends. It seems in some feral colonies, they can become so inbred that they eventually fail to reproduce. I don’t have any statistics on that but I have spoken to a few others doing rescue and none were surprised???
The problem in a closed off colony is that the gene pool is very limited and over time may cause genetic issues.
In some cases it’s created new breeds of cats that were officially recognised like the Manx or kurilian bobtail both island cats that were lucky enough that were enough of them to generate a stable gene pool after a natural mutation occurred.
Sadly when it comes to a lot of th feral colonies today there are maybe what 20? A 100? To start of with as the initial pool of cats. Yes this can increase to the thousands but all very closely related.
