Purrsday Poetry: Frightened, Curious Eyes

Hi everyone,

Please find below the latest entry in Purrsday Poetry by Syedah Maryam Iqbal:

It was peeking outside, through the rusted hole,

With its frightened, curious eyes,

The world appeared unexplored to it,

It was unaware of any lurking dangers,

Hunting for the inquisitive souls.

Lurking dangers that learned to tear down,

That wanted no more to stand as rivals,

That fought all and survived,

But survived, for how long?

The new frightened, curious eyes,

Held better chances of survival,

More days and nights to witness everything,

Their watchers were aware so they helped,

Shunning away all that appeared threatening, breath taking.

They stood as a guarding wall in the face of all perils,

But guarded, for how long?

The frightened, curious eyes have to go on and coexist on their own

They have to come out of their safe abode,

Sharpening their claws, getting equipped for the hunters,

Fighting against all their frights,

Facing every soul that appears blight,

The unexplored world offers them to learn a lot,

But learned, for how long?
