NEW HIGH-TECH CAT FLAP OFFERS FREEDOM FOR FELINES

Cat owners love giving their furry friends the freedom they crave via the pet door, but this can often come with a downside: uninvited visitors coming in.  Thankfully, a new solution is at hand with the launch of the PetSafe® Microchip Cat Flap.  Simple to install, the high-tech door has been designed to give cats easy access to the outside world while keeping out troublesome unwanted cats and other animals.

The latest addition to its popular pet door range, the PetSafe® Microchip Cat Flap works by reading a cat’s unique microchip ID and doesn’t require cats to wear an additional collar or accessory. Suitable for cats up to 8kg, it can be easily programmed for up to 40 microchipped cats, making it ideal for both single and multi-cat homes.

Please view the PetSafe® Brand Microchip Cat Flap video below and learn more:

Featuring a built-in draught excluder, the PetSafe® Microchip Cat Flap is extremely secure, boasting a reinforced dual auto-latch with a four-way manual lock. Furthermore, it’s suitable for almost any type of door or window, as well as brick walls.

Angela Critchley, International Marketing Director for PetSafe® Brand said: “We strive to make products that enhance the relationships between owners and their pets and this cat flap does just that; people can let their fiercely independent cats roam freely while having peace of mind there won’t be any unwanted visitors.  We’ve spent months developing and testing this new addition to our cat flap range and can’t wait to hear what people think.”

The PetSafe® Microchip Cat Flap is available now at petsafe.com/UK and selected retailers for an RRP of £79.99.

PetSafe® Brand specialises in a wide range of Cat Flaps and Pet Doors to help give pet owners more control over their home and freedom for pets themselves. The range includes options for all pet sizes and access needs, from microchip and manual to magnetic and infrared.  For more information on the full range of pet doors from PetSafe® Brand visit the website.

Depends on the area but you are right this can often happen. But people might just use it as easy excess to a protected garden that the cat can’t get out off x

Microchip cat flaps are a great invention! We have indoor only (apart from their cat run) cats. Also indoor/outdoor cats, who we adopted as adults and get depressed if they can’t go outside as they’re used to. So we have a dual scan microchip cat flap, which restricts which cats can go outside as well as come inside. It’s brilliant!

We have such a cat flap, because my enemy from the next street on used to come in and eat our food. I’d say it depends very much on the cat whether it works well or not at all: if you open your cat flap with your nose or forehead and are prepared to give it a good shove, then it works fine, but if you open it with your paws or do it gently, then it won’t open. So beware! Ours is now back on permanently open, because one of us (I won’t say which one) couldn’t open it when it was on microchip mode…

Oh no! Some of the newer microchip cat flaps have a wider range so they would get triggered even if you came into paw range?

Just what I need to give my cat the freedom to come and go without the rest of the neighbourhood felines paying a visit
