I’ve been loved by two black cats and they were wonderful attentive pets. People should reach out and adopt them since I have read that they are often difficult to place because of the silly bad luck tales.

  2. grannyK says:

We have three black cats (one on purpose, one a stray that decided to live in our yard, and one I inherited from my mom when she passed away). LOVE them! But, we have to be careful on Halloween. Some people will torture or kill black cats on Halloween. It happened a lot when I was young. I haven’t heard about it for years, but we shelter them and keep them safe anyway, just in case!

  3. weggieboy says:

My two black kitties are indoor cats because I don’t want ignorant, mean people harming them. Regardless or color, though, I would want them to be indoor cats simply because they are not exposed to road accidents, disease, parasites, and harm.

  4. John Holton says:

We’ve had several black cats over the years, and they’ve all been wonderful companions. I can’t imagine why people are so against them. It can’t just be because they don’t look good in selfies.

    • Marc-André says:

Superstition… but according to surveys in the U.K. The biggest problem is difficult to take photos. I know it’s sad… but this is what the world has come to!

I always tell my local shelters to send people my way to show them that black cats look just as beautiful on photos. 🙁

  5. Laura (PA Pict) says:

The selfie factor. Really? People are that superficial. Ugh. I’ve owned (or been owned by!) a few black cats in my years and they were all wonderful. Now I want to go and adopt all the black kitties.
