Cat Naps Winners – The story of Jack

‘Jack’ photographed by Caroline Hooper, UK – 2016 iCatCare Cat Naps photography competition winner

“Jack was a young feral cat who lived at a local stable yard. One day I arrived and saw a terrier had cornered what I thought was a rat. After shooing it away I discovered a tiny frightened cat. I feared for his safety so I started to try and coax him and he was so frightened he literally jumped into my arms and the rest is history. He came to live with me, my family and other pets and over time he has become more and more confident to the point where he is now a well integrated and extremely loving family cat.”

4-Jack

The judges loved the way his ear is also acting as a sun dial and how relaxed he looks on his lovely perch.

What a beautiful boy! They are so loving when they learn to trust us humans, who are inherently untrustworthy, based on our track record on Mother Earth. Bless you for taking him in and restoring him to faith in the goodness of home sapiens. I only hope we can continue to live up to their hopes.

Wonderful rescue story. I can imagine how frightened he was, terriers can be quite fierce. He has grown into a very handsome boy.
