Purrsday Poetry: My Day As A Cat

Thinking it would be a typical day

That all changed when I found myself curling up in bed

Close to my girlfriend’s face

At breakfast, I tossed the cereal aside and licked up the milk from the bowl

I was tugging on my clothes all day

And steadily trying to kick my shoes off

My coworkers wondered why I was so quiet and sitting under my desk

That last straw was when I got sent home for playing with my boss’s loose shoelaces

Back at home, my girlfriend suggested maybe I had some kind of bug or something

I told her I felt fine, just a little finicky, but fine

I decided to take a nap, maybe that would help

I just had a tough time trying to balance myself on the window sill

Oh well, tomorrow’s another day
