Purrsday Poetry: Through A Cat’s Eyes

Hi everyone,

Today’s Purrsday Poetry post comes from Raffi Lido.

Through A Cat’s Eyes
for
Cagney

I know you’re there
behind that chair
pretending you’ve
become thin air
curled into invisibility
impossible for the
human eye to see
I know how much
you dislike this stuff
I know you think
you’ve had enough
but doctor says
and he is right
time to take
your medicine
again tonight

so pretend when
I lift you from
your hiding place
that you’ve disappeared
without a trace
for cats take uncanny delight
in feline imagined camouflage
and I believe
their fantasies
distinctly revolve
mostly around
espionage.

Thank you, Marc-André–you set this up beautifully. He was my sweet abby-tabby. He was an abuse case I took from another rescue into my own at the cat show when we had the first spay-neuter booth in the city, years ago- he was a character. Thank you all. He was a joy!
