Hi everyone,
Today’s Purrsday Poetry post comes from Les Noble).
IRISH CATS from LIMERICK
A cat is a creature with pins on its paws;
A rather nice set of sharp fangs in its jaws;
You make them disjointed
Responses are pointed –
You pause with the jaws and the claws as the cause!
When love on cats’ senses may fall
They have on a wall quite a ball;
When cats caterwaul
Their call can appal –
That bawl up the wall sends us all!

MOL!!? Dude – that guy knows us kats!
🙂
These limericks are really fun. Cats make great subjects for humorous poetry because they have such great senses of humor. 🙂
🙂 indeed
Great limerick!
I wrote a cat poem for Writing 201 recently, I can say it’s really a challenge!
Would you like us to re-publish your cat poem in this section? 🙂 we would of course refer back to you!
Thank you Marc! the poem was for WordPress Writing 201 course actually and coincidentally it’s a limerick too 😉
Here’s the short poem~

If it’s worth for a republish, please do go ahead; or else I’m glad I’ve shared it, no worries 😀
Purrsday poetry is all about sharing poetry of all kinds so none is to small. 🙂 it’s about sharing stuff with each other 😀
That’s really great to hear Marc, thank you so much for your encouragement!
I shall submit this little cat poetry for republish on your site. Let me know if you need anything 😀
If you could send me an email with the link as a reminder for adding it that would be fantastic haha XD. Marc@katzenworld.co.uk 🙂
I’ve dropped you an email with details in it 😀 Thank you!
Got it ^*
Yay! Thanks Marc 😀
In Limerick cats go poetic
because that town’s cats are aesthetic
they come up with rhymes
and play them on chimes
you could even call them fanatic.
:o! Now if you have a photo go with this I’ll make it a post for you 😉
You mean something like this:

Or like this:

LOL! 🙂
All those rhymes remember me on the famous book ‘Alice in Wonderland’
with the grinning cat … 😀
I’m German, so I’m not able to do poetry or limericks in English,
but I admire people who can do easily 😉
Being German is not a hindrance to write a limerick in English. 😉 Trust me on this. Really! I am German.
Nice to know – my vocabulary is even sort of regenerating {or is it refreshing?} – I’ll wait a few month with trying something difficult like fabricating limericks … 😉
Try dict.cc if in doubt.
Thanks for this tip –
I only knew ‘leo.org’ as a serious one … 😉
Leo! Haven’t used that one in a while 😮
There is always German poetry! ^^
Of course there is … 😉 Have a look here:

Very, very nice!!! =^..^=
🙂
meowricks rule!
🙂
Nice and very unusual. Well done!
🙂
A poem that describes what a cat is perfectly.
🙂
I love Limericks!
Thanks ^^
I just made one up but deleted it. It was a true story actually, but I love thinking them up.
Oh! How comes you decided to delete it?
Well I thought the person I wrote it about would see it. Wasn’t that silly?
You never know. They may!
I just posted it again with a new ending.

Danke für den link 🙂
Thanks for posting my ditty, and to those who commented kindly above. The model for the photos, by the way, is Mister MacGregor, a rescue cat and now the undisputed ruler of the household with five dogs, two little girls and three adults as subjects.

If ;your cats show their claws
and the teeth in their jaws
You ain’t treating them right –
cats have to be the baws.
Thank you 🙂
Or else it will come as no surprise
To find they’re just acting otherwise!
Fabulous poem! 🙂
Thanks *^
Hahaha! Loved this!
Thank you ^^
