I never tried self made ice, but sometimes in winter, when the snow piled up on the window sill outside I took some snow and made a snow ball – and my two were very curious about it – but not as daring as the little tabby furball.

Kara would like to lay on the cool kitchen floor, with a little bowl of milk straight from the fridge.
MM always had bowls of water upstairs and down. She would tell you when she wanted it refreshed.

I didn’t realize that the two cats were licking an ice ball at first. It looked like they were licking a balloon or giant bubble. I will say the photo is pretty cool.

I’m moving soon, and my cat has to travel in her cage, in the cargo hold of the plane. The lady with whom I booked asked me to freeze some water in a plastic bottle, then attach this to the inside of the door. She will lick at the condensation on the outside of the bottle. Apparently cats (and dogs) find this not only good for quenching thirst on the flight, but it seems to calm them. I thought someone was very clever to think of this!

Interesting I had no idea you’d do that for flights. At some point my two will have to move. Luckily not too far though. We are only thinking of moving from the UK to Germany haha

After the initial worry, that their tongue might stick to the ice, which interestingly didn’t, I loved the video immensely ! My favorite is Osamu 😀 They are so curious and so many ways play it , nice music rhyming with the cat’s rhythm 😉

Hey Ady. I have tried it myself at home too with a smaller cube and can confirm their tongues don’t stick to the ice. :). I dunno if that’s because it melts so fast or the texture of their tongue?

So Kawaii and creative ! Just tried it and my cat was afraid and curious at first and then he started licking it and playing with it with his paws…now my floor is full of his footprints hahaha. Great idea for summer 🙂
