Cat Travel: Maison de Moggy

Hi everyone,

As some of you may know I recently went on a work trip to Scotland using a rather toy like plane haha. Little did I know that there was a cat cafe in Edinburgh! Luckily someone I met there pointed this out to me so of course I couldn’t resist and after a long day of work (got up at 5 am =_=) I decided to make a “brief” stop at the cafe on my way to the hotel!

Upon arrival you can tell that the owner (Laura O’Neill) has done her research well and it really feels like you are walking into a cat cafe in the heart of Japan!

The walkways were amazing and it really made me want to be one of the cats there haha!

The walkways went all around the place giving their cats loads of freedom and space to play with. 😀

And just for the hell of it I took a picture from “cats perspective”- yep I was lying on the floor for this shot hehe.

Of course cats WERE in the cafe I just ended up taking loads of photos of the purrtastic design. 😀 Meet Jacques a beautiful Norwegian Forest cat!

He really liked climbing through the holes in the walkways. Since he is so big it made quite a “oomph” when he jumped down. ;o

Of course being a cafe you can enjoy a cuppy and a slize of cake that’s if you can get past the cute cat  guardian to grab the menu! This is a Maine Coon and her name is Pauline. She is still a youngster btw and will probably be bigger than jacques!

Prices at the cafe were very reasonable and I shall have to be back to sample their cakes! “Unfortunately” I was completly stuffed from cake and cookies from all my work visits haha.

And last photo for todays post is a picture of Laura who started this cafe and Guillaume a beautiful and very regal cat!

If you are going to Edinburgh I would highly recommend taking the time to spend an hour to relax and recover in Maison de Moggy who are  located not too far from Waverly or Haymarket station. The address is 17 – 19 West Port, Edinburgh EH1 2JA

To find out more about Maison de Moggy visit their website or Facebook page. Already made up your mind? You can book a slot here!

I’ll be back soon to show you all of their various cats! 🙂

Thanks,

Marc

Reblogged this on Rosie Malezer and commented:
This is absolutely fantastic! I hope they install similar gadgetry in Tampere (Finland)’s upcoming cat cafe. Purebred or moggy, all cats deserve to be spoiled xx

Will do! I will see if I can go in the next month or two (have to go when my four year old isn’t with me!). I think my Mum would love to go- it would be a great surprise for her. What sort of things would you like me to comment on in a writing piece? Would you like photos too, if I can get any good ones without a flash? (They don’t allow flash photography as far as I can work out from the terms and conditions of booking).
