Oliver & Nubia: The SureFeed microchip pet feeder!

Hi everyone,

(This post is also available in German by clicking here.)

Nubia here! Our parents got a super fun looking box the other day! 😀

It was even more intriguing after it came out of the brown cardboard box…

Nubia: Come on daddy open it up already I wanna see what it is! 😀

IMG_0322

Nubia: Just making sure the box is empty… Yes that’s what I am doing. 😮

IMG_0323

Nubia: Right so why is that bowl empty and sealed away??? 🙁

IMG_0327

Oliver: What are you doing here Nubia?

Nubia: Trying to figure out what our parents got us here. 😀

Oliver: A spaceship?

Nubia: Hmmm what good that be for us!

Oliver: Explore the galaxy?

Marc: Kids. It’s an automatic opening feeder for you two! But it’s not like the automatic cat feeder 2017 as it doesn’t chuck food out at you. 😉

Oliver & Nubia: Ah!!! Let’s try it out.

Oliver: All snacks belong to me!

Nubia: NO! They belong to me too!!! 😀

Oliver & Nubia: Well it is time to pass over to our humans for the review part of this post!

Marc: Thanks your Meowjesties! 🙂

Review:
Have you ever been in the stressful situation of ensuring that specific food only goes to the right pet? Maybe because it included  a medication? Or your dog is stealing the cats food? Look no further as the solution is here the SUREFEED microchip controlled pet feeder will help you! 😉

It is really easy to setup the feeder once it comes out of the box and you added some batteries you will need to start by adding your pet(s) of choice to the feeder.

Just turn the feeder around and look at the buttons on the back

IMG_0330

The one you want to use is the cute little middle button with the + icon. 🙂 Click it and wait until your cat enters the feeder area to be recognised. Until recognised the feeder light will flash orange before turning green. Should your pet not have a microchip don’t worry as the pack comes with an RF tag that you can attach to your pets collar instead of a microchip.

As for the other buttons the big one on the left is to open or close the feeder for adding new food bowls with of course food in them. 😀

The Fn button is a training mode program, it is recommended you do each stage of this program. Each stage adds slightly more movement to the lid of the feeder to get your little or big friend used to the movement of the lid.

The lid will stay open for a certain amount of time after each feeding, you will find a switch underneath the feeder that you can move to change the delay of the lid closure. For example in multi pet households where one pet steals the others food quickly after them leaving you may wish to shorten it. Or if you have a worried eater you may want to delay the closure.

The instruction booklet that comes with the feeder is in multiple languages and is fully illustrated to make it easy for you to set up the feeder! 🙂

Cleaning the feeder is really easy too. Both the bowls and food matts can be removed from the feeder and washed before placing them back in the feeder.

Overall verdict:
What can we say! The microchip pet feeder from SureFlap is a brilliant little invention! You own multiple cats or other pets that steal each others food? Just set up an individual microchip feeder per pet or set one for your cats and one for your dogs for example and no longer will they steal each others food! 😀

This gadget is not just a must have in a multi pet household as it will help you feed the right food to the right pet without hassle or stress but also in single pet households if you are feeding wet food! The feeder seals the food in after each snack and therefore keeping the food moist for longer. 🙂

Granny saw this when she had to catsit three cats. One with diabetes, the other with kidney disease and one normal cat… well, you know what I mean 😉 They all need different food and these feed boxes were the best solution for this problem. No more stress about the food…and very purrivate 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend 🙂 <3

This is amazing technology. Its wonderful your sweet cats get to try out and keep all these special product. The entire post is wonderful and makes everyone laugh and smile. This Blog is VIRAL and the best ever, JMHO. And, its always cute to see how the cats may love the product, but the PACKING MATERIALS may be even more important to them, which is why you show us they will always get in the boxes!! Too cute for words!

It’s worth it if you have a)multiple pets stealing each other’s food or b)you feed wet food which your cats stop eating because it dries out after an hour or so. :). In situation a it really helps making sure the right cat gets the right food. (Especially handy with medicated food) and we use it to keep wet food wet on the other hand Haha. Our two used to never finish their wet food. Now it’s gone by the end of the day. 😀

That’s awesome, I’ll keep that in mind. My hubby an I are thinking about getting cats on the larger end of the spectrum 🙂 do you think a Siamese an a Norwegian would be comfortable?

We have a snack toy that our Olivia likes. They don’t wear collars or have microchips as they don’t ever go out. It’s funny to watch them try & figure it out, tho. Our other 2 just look at it & can’t be bothered.

Was it easy to train your kitties to use their feeders? I have a kitty who’s not too clever with puzzle treat dispensers but I still want to buy a SureFeed Feeder.

This is cool. I’m not prepared to pay $150 but I am going to keep it in mind and it might end up on a Christmas wish list. I have one cat that gobbles up ALL food. Well, she is a fast gobbler . . . but she does get around to it.

This would be cool just to figure out who was eating what. Well, now that I think of it this might not be so great. I could see the cat it was set for still eating off of the other place because I really would want to spend $300 to get one each. Hmmmm . . .

    Anyway, thanks for the education.

I love reading Oliver and Nubia’s posts!

What we have done nowadays is set it to only allow Nubia to eat from the feeder and reduce the amount of food “freely” available. As Oliver is the gobbler he finishes before she gets near the food anyway… Ending up having to feed more without the feeder. (Which of course he tries to steal again!!! Naughty brother haha).

Long story short since the feeder only allows Nubia to eat from it she has a safe haven and Oli lost the fat he started to put on 😀
