Hello again my friends,

I’ve brought a special treat today. I want to tell you about new Tasty Treasures with bacon by Friskies. It’s so exciting that they pick me to try and share with all of you. And I can share what I thought of the new food. So here it goes… Purr….

friskies

Can you believe there are four flavors they sent me? Well, its true there is Turkey in gravy, Ocean Fish in Sauce, Chicken Dinner in Gravy and my favorite Chicken & Tuna dinner with gravy and all of them have Bacon in them… Purrr Baaacon!

I thought you might need a closer look. Don’t they look yummy?

friskies

They are very Yummy and by the way they are so yummy I had to bring them outside and hide them so no one else will eat them. Don’t tell anyone where I’m hiding them though because I want to make sure I get these all to myself! Purr…

hiding friskies

I’m guarding these with my life… They are so good they are like catnip!

f

I love hearing the tab pop off the can because that sound reminds me of the smell and the tasty food I’m about to get, but it’s so good you are going to have to guard your bowl if you don’t want to share with anyone. I’m just warning you because it’s that good…

Nom, nom… Purr…

I know you are going to have to try for yourself to see if you like it, but I can tell you that my mom had another cat before me who passed away last year who ate Friskies her entire life. Her name was Nakita and she was very healthy and lived to be 21 1/2 yrs old. I guess what I’m saying is if it’s tasty and healthy then why not try it ? Besides the new bacon flavor you can’t go wrong.

friskies

Well, That is all I got for you today, but I do think you should go try some new Tasty Treasures with Bacon because it’s out of this world!! Purr…

Now Ms. Cali wants it, so I will get her some at PetSmart today. She needs lots of LITTER and fishy wishy glop. I also bought her very expensive tins of SARDINES (her very favorite food). Sadly, NOTHING will ever stop Ms. Cali from HOWKING, day and night. May she HOWL for much more QUALITY time!!

      • lawjic says:

Actually DID make a Pet Smart run today as we needed a couple 40 pound boxes of litter. I did look at the “fishy wishy glop” (means canned cat food) Aisle and saw the new FOOD. So I bought Ms. Cali 14 small cans of things I know she eats and 2 of the large ones with bacon.

I am pleased to report that Ms. Cali LOVES the food and the bacon and ate almost HALF of a large can—that is a whole lot of food for one cat to eat at one time. I was waiting for her to howl, but she did not. Instead, she is “resting and digesting”, and warm and purring with EXTRA CALI blankets in her brand new BLUE doggie bed, which she loves and I will ALWAYS FIND her there!!

On behalf of my 19 year old calico cat, SHE loves this FOOD! Good call!

You look adorable in your bow 🙂 I am happy to hear about the kitty that lived a long life on Friskies because that is all my kitties eat for canned food, except one with allergies who has a venison one.

What kitty wouldn’t go crazy for bacon? You are such a lucky kitty for getting to try all of those yummy foods. I can tell that you loved them 🙂

  3. Kate Solisti says:

Hello All: I appreciate that these Friskies are tasty, but have you looked at the ingredients?

Here they are: Tasty Treasures® Chicken Dinner In Gravy Accented With REAL Bacon: Water sufficient for processing, chicken, liver, meat by-products, wheat gluten, soy flour, turkey, corn starch-modified, artificial and natural flavors, bacon (preserved with sodium nitrite), tricalcium phosphate, potassium chloride, taurine, added color, salt, choline chloride, thiamine mononitrate, Vitamin E supplement, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, niacin, Red 3, calcium pantothenate, Vitamin A supplement, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), copper sulfate, manganese sulfate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, Vitamin B-12 supplement, biotin, folic acid, Vitamin D-3 supplement, potassium iodide. A-6156.

Sadly, many of these ingredients are just plain awful for cats: Meat by-products, wheat gluten, soy flour, corn starch, artificial flavors, SODIUM NITRATE! What is A-6156? Anyone??? I’m sorry, but I have seen the results on cat’s bodies of many of these ingredients over time and it isn’t pretty! You love your cats, so PLEASE feed them foods that DO NOT include these cheap and potentially hazardous ingredients!

Thank you Kate for the information. I do know about the ingredients in them and fed Friskies to my other cat for 21 years and the only problem she had was in the seafood has a high level of chemicals that could cause problems this was coming from a vet saying this.

    • lawjic says:

If you feed a cat wet food on occasion, it will ALWAYS have those ingredients. No need to have a FIT over it. My cat lives on a dry strict renal diet (with an occasional can of wet food she loves). Guess what? She will be 19 in just 2 weeks; she is a DSH calico at; she is gorgeous and thriving! The food is NOT hurting you CATS. FEED YOUR CATS WET FOODS, but also free feed them dry food TOO. Really, what I want to say?

FEED YOU CATS AS YOU SEE FIT! Do not listen to those against WET food and those against DRY food. You will never please these people. And guess what? THEIR CATS? They die very YOUNG…..due to “STUPID OWNER DISEASE”, which is where the cat guardians HAVE NO CLUE….I am so sorry for cats with idiot cat guardians. What on EARTH DO THEY FEED YOU? Chicken broth? You are carnivores and you need and want MEAT! Go VEGAN ALL YOU WANT; Leave you poor cats OUT OF YOUR food choices. FEED THEM!

      • Angel's Eyes - Persian says:

Thank you Lawjic ,you are definitely right but some people just don’t look at the big picture and just reads or listen to some that don’t have all the facts. We do appreciate everyone’s advice but I think that is just do what best for your own cat or there own beliefs.

No worries: we will buy it and try it today. Will my 19 year old DSH calico cat LIKE IT? WHO KNOWS? I will only buy a couple cans in case she DOES hate it. She is a CAT and we all know JUST how finicky they can be; its one of the reasons we LOVE THEN SO MUCH!

  6. lawjic says:

And, GOOD GRIEF: a rare can of wet food? It will make your cats HAPPY and it will not kill them. TRY IT SOME TIME! Your cats will love you (maybe). I only feed my cat a rare can of WET food as the strict dry renal diet is constipating and she NEEDS and wants to eat something she LIKES for a change.

    • Angel's Eyes - Persian says:

Well actually she lived to be 21 years old and I think it was getting the nutriention she needs by feeding her can wet food 2x a day morning and night and hard food with hairball medicine in it . I took her outside daily by my watchful eye to get fresh air and sunshine. Also brushing her teeth so she wouldn’t get sick or loose teeth. Daily brushing so she wouldn’t eat to much hair. She also got daily treats like cat treats or ham etc.

      • greg1948 says:

(You may post this or not.) I have 3 cats. The oldest one was a stray and will eat anything. She likes it, which is not necessarily an endorsement. My other two Maine Coons have other opinions. One cat ate it up only to vomit it all out immediately. When presented with the food the next day, she would not touch it. My other Maine Coon ate some, but when given the choice of a plate of “regular” Friskies, abandoned the bacon flavor. I only get food everyone will eat for ease in feeding, so I am done with this flavor–it was chicken dinner in gravy tasty treasures. I do not feel like experimenting with the others.

        • Angel's Eyes - Persian says:

Thank you for trying some cats are picky eaters and others have sensitive to food changes . It helps to give them a tiny bit at a time mixed with their regular food that they are used too. But I’m so sorry to hear about your kitty that had a problem. I don’t blame you for not wanting to go through this again. I really appreciate you trying and your input. I will share this post. I hope you have a great weekend!

I have tried soo many brands and flavors with my gang, expecially when my Mosby was in hospice care, and they all prefer Friskies. I balance that with limited ingredient, high quality dry food and I rotate the flavors in the canned food. They are all like Angel, they don’t like people food, including plain roast chicken and turkey,so I give them what they will eat and I will try the new flavors since they seem to have taste bud’s like Angel’s. Thanks for the review.

I’ve been looking for that in my stores here, but can’t find it yet. I love bacon, so I want my babies to have some too! You’re adorable in your pictures!
