On the 9th of October the latest book by Lynne Truss will be available on the UK market! 🙂
What book you ask? It is Cat Out of Hell
In a lonely cottage in Norfolk the story of the book is told to us by a grieving widower who starts going through a computer file titled “Roger”. It soon turns out that Roger is the name of a talking, well writing 😉 cat with loads of sarcasm and humour!
The story is told through notes, picture files and even a screen play for sorts making it a very interesting way of experiencing the story! The narrator just like us tries to make heads and tails of the notes so it really makes you feel like you are the one discovering the snippets of information.
It combines realistic occurrences, paradoxes and fantasy to create what is a wonderful distraction from work and other day to day life events!
If you ever wondered what the evil glint in your cat’s eye really means (in a fun and sarcastic way of course!) and are looking for a humorous book crossed with horror this is the perfect book for you!
If you love cats or love humor and horror genre this book will give you a chuckle of laughter on every page!
Just remember don’t let your cat read this book as that may plant more ideas to be mischievous into their heads. ;o
More info on the book from the publisher:
The scene: a cottage on the coast on a windy evening. Inside, a room with curtains drawn. Tea has just been made. A kettle still steams.
Under a pool of yellow light, two figures face each other across a kitchen table. A man and a cat.
The story about to be related is so unusual yet so terrifyingly plausible that it demands to be told in a single sitting.
The man clears his throat, and leans forward, expectant.
‘Shall we begin?’ says the cat…
From the remarkable programme of Hammer novellas comes a hugely original Gothic tale that will surprise and delight all who read it. By turns scary, funny and genuinely moving, this is a very cleverly written book full of sharp references and witty lines. Author of the bestselling guide to punctuation, Eats, Shoots & Leaves, and diatribe on the rudeness of modern life, Talk to the Hand, Lynne Truss is a Telegraph columnist, sports journalist, arts and book reviewer, and a regular broadcaster for BBC’s Radio 4. She’s had two plays performed at the Edinburgh Festival, including ‘Hell’s Bells’ in 2012. Her most recent book is Get Her Off The Pitch: How Sports Took Over My Life, and Cat Out Of Hell is her fourth novel – the first in over ten years.
If you would like to get the book yourself it is published by Hammer, part of Cornerstone Publishing and is available on the random house website by clicking here for £7.99 (Paperback), £9.99 (Hardback) or £5.98 (eBook).
Or if you are not based in the UK of course you can more than likely find it in your local bookstore or on the usual online retailers. 😀
